Cutera's management team has extensive experience, providing the collective depth and business knowledge to successfully manage our business and world-class portfolio of products.
James is an experienced medical-devices industry leader who was appointed as President, CEO and a member of the Board of Directors in January 2017. Prior to joining Cutera, he served as the CEO of Drawbridge Health Inc., a joint venture of GE Ventures and GE Healthcare. Prior to Drawbridge, Mr. Reinstein was the CEO of Aptus Endosystems from 2012 until its acquisition by Medtronic in 2015. From 2007-2012, he was the EVP and Chief Commercial Officer of Cyberonics, Inc. At Cyberonics, Mr. Reinstein drove the epilepsy strategy for many of its departments including Research and Development, Clinical Research, and New Business Development and led a global commercial team of over 200 employees, growing revenues by 250% within three years. Prior to Cyberonics, Mr. Reinstein held a variety of management positions of increasing responsibility within Boston Scientific Corporation from 1990-2007, including Vice President and Regional Head of an Asian business unit and Country Director of Boston Scientific de Mexico. He began his career with Proctor and Gamble.
James graduated with a BBA in Marketing from University of Georgia, completed courses in Executive Management from INSEAD, France, and has completed numerous other training courses focused on management, negotiations and public speaking.
Jason Richey has more than 20 years of experience in the Medical Device industry and serves as Cutera’s Chief Operating Officer.
Immediately prior to joining Cutera, Jason served as the President of North America, for LivaNova, PLC, a $5 Billion global medical device manufacturer headquartered in London, England with presence in more than 110 countries worldwide. Jason joined LivaNova via the merger of Cyberonics Inc. and Sorin SpA. During his 17 year tenure with LivaNova/Cyberonics he served the company in multiple positions of increasing responsibility to include: Vice President of Global Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Government Affairs., President & General Manager of the Neuromodulation Franchise, and Regional President.
At Cyberonics, among other roles, Jason served as the Vice President and General Manager of the Company’s International business. In that role, Jason led an exciting turn-around of Cyberonics’ international business that saw substantial revenue growth while simultaneously driving significant profitability to the corporation. He began his medical device career at B Braun Medical in sales and sales management. Jason holds a BA degree in Biology from Indiana University.
Sandra serves as Cutera’s Chief Financial Officer with responsibility for all of the company’s finance, accounting, information technologies and sales administration matters. Ms. Gardiner has over 27 years’ experience in the life science industry with 19 years specifically in the medical device industry. Immediately prior to joining Cutera, Ms. Gardiner served as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Tria Beauty, Inc., a medical device manufacturer of laser-based aesthetic devices. Ms. Gardiner joined Tria Beauty in April 2015, until its acquisition in April 2017. In addition to Tria Beauty, Ms. Gardiner has been Chief Financial Officer of two publicly traded entities, Vermillion and Lipid Sciences, as well as three privately held companies, Asante Solutions, Aptus Endosystems and Ventus Medical.
Ms. Gardiner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Economics from the University of California, Davis and began her career with Advanced Cardiovascular Systems.
As Chief Technology Officer at Cutera, Michael directs research and development activities ranging from early phase R&D all the way through product development. Previous to this role, Michael served as Vice President of Research and Development of Cutera from 2012 to 2015. Under his leadership, Cutera released multiple innovative platforms, as well as product line extensions including Enlighten (the world’s first dual wavelength, dual pulse duration picosecond aesthetic laser) and Excel HR.
In addition to starting his own company, Femtoblanc Inc., Michael has led various teams of engineers and scientists at a number of successful early to mid-stage companies, including LenSx (acquired by Alcon), Newport Corporation and Intralase Corporation (acquired by Advanced Medical Optics).
Michael graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from Indiana University, and completed his M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical and Material Physics at the University of California, Irvine. He is the named inventor in 10 U.S. patents and is the author of 17 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Larry is responsible for leading CUTERA’s sales team in North America. Larry has 20 years of sales management experience in medical devices and is a veteran of the aesthetic industry. Immediately prior to joining CUTERA, Larry spent 12 years at Cynosure where he started as an Area Sales Manager and then earned positions of increasing responsibility culminating in total responsibility for North American sales. During his last 4 years with Cynosure, Larry was Executive Director of Sales for North America.
Larry graduated with a B.A. in Communications from California State University, Northridge.
Marina leads Cutera’s global marketing efforts. She has over 25 years experience in the aesthetic medical device industry where she has held roles in marketing, clinical marketing, clinical research and product development and professional relations. Prior to joining Cutera, Marina held positions at Cynosure and Syneron-Candela in marketing, professional relations and clinical studies where she worked closely with physicians to optimize outcomes. In addition, she provided leadership in developing business expansion strategies.
Marina holds a Bachelor’s degree in international relations as well as a Master’s degree in economics from American University in Washington, D.C.
Michael leads CUTERA’S global service organization and joined the company in August 2017. He has over 19 years of customer service experience in the aesthetic medical device industry. Prior to joining CUTERA he was the Senior Director for International Service at Cynosure, Inc. where he has held management roles in North America and International service departments.
Michael has traveled extensively effectively managing territories in EMEA, APAC, and LATAM while building successful global service teams, cultivating service business partnerships, and creating new opportunities, including large-scale distribution networks.
Michael has an associates degree in electronics technology, completed several courses in executive leadership, finance and accounting management, Aperian global management and situational leadership.
Darren serves as Cutera’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary with responsibility for all of the company’s legal matters. Immediately prior to joining Cutera, Darren served as Vice President, Corporate Legal Affairs with LivaNova PLC, a publicly-traded medical device manufacturer formed following the merger of Cyberonics, Inc. and Sorin SpA in October 2015. Prior to the merger, Darren served as Vice President, General Counsel and Assistant Secretary & Compliance Officer for Cyberonics. Following the merger, at LivaNova, Darren had legal responsibility for the company’s Cardiac Rhythm Management business unit, as well as responsibility for the Company’s global intellectual property function. Darren joined Cyberonics in August 2005 as Compliance Officer and Assistant General Counsel with responsibility for the company’s worldwide legal affairs. Before joining Cyberonics, he was a shareholder in the health law practice group of the national law firm of Jenkens & Gilchrist, P.C. Prior to Jenkens & Gilchrist, Darren worked for the pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer, Inc. in a sales and marketing capacity. Mr. Alch is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and served on active duty in the U.S. Army as a field artillery officer.
Darren holds a B.S. in Management from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.
Ray has more than 20 years of experience in regulatory affairs and quality assurance, ensuring that medical devices meet the rigorous standards of quality customers expect. He has extensive experience in the field of aesthetic medicine, serving in regulatory and quality assurance roles for companies such as Solta Medical and TRIA Beauty. Other medical device manufacturers that have benefitted from his expertise include Restoration Robotics, Pulmonx, Insound and Decibel Instruments.
Cindee leads the Global Human Resources organization at CUTERA and joined the company in March of 2017. Cindee has over 25 years of experience practicing Human Resources and has spent the last 15 years working as a Human Resources Executive partnering with Senior Management to develop and implement Human Resources solutions. Prior to joining CUTERA, Cindee worked as the Vice President of Global Human Resources for DFINE, Inc. (acquired by Merit Medical), the Vice President of Global Human Resources for OCZ Storage Solutions, Inc. (acquired by Toshiba), and as the Senior Director of Human Resources at VNUS Medical Technologies, Inc. (acquired by Covidien).
Cindee has her BS in Business Administration – Human Resources Management from Excelsior College, completed specialized training at Heald Business College, received her certification in HR Management from the Employers Group, and has completed many other expert training courses focused on management, communication styles, executive compensation, and performance management.
